Firstly i would like to place on record my personal sadness at Neville Nania's decision to step down from the Board of St Ives Town FC. Neville's commitment in the 17 years that he has been involved with St Ives Town FC is undeniable and it is without doubt that his decision is a great loss to us as a club. Neville has guided the club through some very tough times and it his legacy that we will continue to build upon.
Having spoken to Neville a number of times over recent weeks i understand the reasons behind his decision which i both respect and support. I wish Neville all the very best and sincerely hope that his involvement and association with St Ives Town FC will continue for many many years to come.
I would like to give my assurance that as the Chairman of St Ives Town FC my aspirations for the club remain unaltered from when Neville asked me if i would be interested in assuming the role of Chairman towards the end of last season. Having enjoyed playing and watching the game for many years i am determined to see St Ives Town FC playing football at the highest level possible. In order that the club can realise it's dream's on the pitch there is much that needs to be done off the pitch to facilitate this. I will continue to chair a Board of Directors that is committed to building on the many years of hard work put in by Neville and deliver a club that, whilst climbing the non league pyramid, will enure that it is done in a way that is sustainable.
Having worked with Neville over the last 2 seasons and as someone that i regard as a friend i have offered him my best wishes and personal thanks for everything that he has done for St Ives Town.
Ashley Griffiths Chairman (St Ives Town FC)
