Tuesday 10th August 2010 - UCL Premier Division - K0 - 7.45pm

St Ives Town vs Newport Pagnell Town

Tuesday night football is back at Westwood Road as the Saints run out in front of their loyal fans for the first time at this season. Both sides enjoyed three points on Saturday with the Saints travelling to Holbeach to win 1-0 and Pagnell winning 3-0 away to Blackstones. Newport Pagnell will no doubt be looking for revenge after St Ives ran out extra time winners in the UCl League Cup final this year to make history for the club.

St Ives Town are proud to announce, yet again, that they have decided not to increase the membership and season ticket prices so why not come down and take advantage of the incredible value for money.

St Ives made the long journey into Lincolnshire to face a reinspired United side who unravelled new signing and ex professional Julian Joachim into their forward line but it was the forwarding thinking Saints that came away with all three points.

Manager's Reaction in Reserves win this evening vs Brampton PDF Print E-mail
Written by Simon Clark

Saints Co Manager; Gary Tharme spoke to the website this evening regarding his sides 3-1 win over Brampton this evening.

"Really pleased with the result in the end. We had a big squad again and we had some new players tonight that havent played before. The team took a while to get going and we conceded early but we kept at it and managed to get ourselves back in the game. Two great goals from Nick Cade, set up by Under 18's midfielder; Max Roberts and the other was from a returning saints player; Andy Grey. The third goal came from Nick Whately and it was from yetr another ex St Ives player in James Clark so it is really encouraging and it looks promising. We keep our heart and an unbeaten run in pre season. I thought Niall was outstanding tonight and he deserves the man of the match vote as he made some vital saves for us at vital times. Also, it was great to see Harry Williams in goal also this evening as he did a great job for us too" Gary added "There were a lot of positives to take out of the game and we had some lads playing slightly out of position too which wont happen once the season gets underway but Ricky and I are pleased with how things are going and we are looking forward to the start of the season"
