With a very new look side and five under 18's players amongst the squad this was always going to be an unsure test and a sign of things to come. But the nerves were soon settled when the match got going and there were some very encouraging performances from a side that were unfamiliar with each other.

In front of yet another bumper crowd at Westwood Road the Saints displayed  another clinical performance against the professional outfit of Cambridge United.

A crowd of 536 looked on as the new look Saints side made a lasting impression on the Westwood Road fans as they drew with the U's in a competitive pre season friendly. Scott Fielding scored after on 11 minutes with Blaine Hudson equalising for the U's immediately after the half time break.

The U's make their second visit to Westwood Road in as many seasons as the Saints look to continue to impress through their pre season campaign. Tuesday night saw the Saints beat Cambs Premier side Chatteris Town 4-0 with goals coming from Washington, Ellison, Fox and Bannister.

Kick Off is at 3pm but it is advisable to arrive early in anticipation of a generous crowd. Why not help spread the word around Town ?

Tuesday 13th July 2010 - Pre Season Friendly

Chatteris Town 0 St Ives Town 4

The Saints got off to a great start of their pre season campaign as they travelled into the Fens to face Kershaw Premier Division side; Chatteris Town at West Street, Chatteris. Goals coming from Conor Washington, Lee Ellison, Shane Fox and Matt Bannister. In slippery conditions the Saints controlled the game and dominated play to set a precident for the upcoming fixtures with the Saints supporters pleased with their opening account.

After the game Co Managers; Warren Everdell and Jez Hall were said to be "Very pleased with how the lads performed this evening and even though there looks to be a few further additions to the squad it was good to see the lads working for each other" Hall added "A clean sheet is important and its great to get off to a winning start"

The Saints will be training on Thursday evening and looking to prepare for the Cambridge United friendly on Saturday (17th)at Westwood Road.

Saturday 7th August 2010 - UCL Premier Division

Holbeach United vs St Ives Town

The Saints have been drawn away from home in their opening game of the UCL Premier Division on Saturday 7th August 2010. Their first opponents will be Holbeach United. Co Manager; Jez Hall spoke to the website this evening "To be honest, it doesnt matter who we have on the first game as we are confident the lads will be ready to get the season off to a good start"

Warren Everdell and Jez Hall (pictured here holding the League Cup) are looking to go from strength to strength as they prepare for the 2010/11 season in the UCL Premier Division. The succesfull pair are looking to add further silverware to the Saints trophy cabinet when they kick off their League and Cup campaign in three weeks time. After reaching 400 games in charge as a management team and making it a clean sweep for cup wins over the years their ambition is to keep pushing on to collect more trophies.

Saints Chairman; Ashley Griffiths, spoke to the website "They have achieved fantastic things for this football club over the years and there is no letting up for the pair of them for this coming season" he added "There is no doubt in my mind or anyone's mind that they are the right team for the job and I am personally looking forward to the quality new signings that they have brought in" Griffiths also added "They have shown great loyalty to this football club and on behalf of the Board of Directors and all involved with the Saints we would like to wish them all the very best for 2010/11"

Chatteris Town vs St Ives Town

The Saints are in action on Tuesday evening against Chatteris Town in their first of many pre season friendlies in their run in to the start of the UCL Premier Division season. Saints Co Manager; Warren Everdell spoke to the website this evening "Training has started well and it looks like we have got a strong squad again as usual. The lads have been working hard and this will be the first opportunity for the supporters to see the new signings also"

Tuesday 27th July 2010 - 7.45pm KO

St Ives Town vs Soham Town Rangers

Saints Co Manager; Jez Hall and Soham Manager; Ian Benjiman have been in discussions in the past 24 hours regarding a potential friendly before the start of their respective league campaigns. The date has now been confirmed for 27th July 2010.

Also, the Saints can confirmed yet another friendly on Thursday 22nd July 2010 vs Burton Park Wanderers. Kick off time is at an earlier time of 7.15pm.

David Joins the Saints Line Up

Saints Co Manager; Jez Hall was delighted to announce the latest addition to the ever improving Saints squad when David Cobb put pen to paper to sign for the Westwood Road outfit. Hall spoke to the website this morning "This is yet another great signing for the club and I am confident that he fit in nice and quickly and enjoy his time here" he added "We have been interested in Cobby for the last few years so this is great news for the club"

Cobb, who has previously played for Wisbecj, Deeping Ranger and Stamfold can play out on the wing or as a striker.

FA Cup and FA Youth Cup draws made this week

The Saints First Team have been drawn against UCL rivals Cogenhoe United, at home, in the the Extra Preliminary Round on the most prestigeous football tournament in England.

The Saints Youth team will face Rushden & Diamonds in the FA Youth Cup also at Westwood Road, St Ives.

Fielding returns to Westwood Road !

Last night fans favourite; Scott Fielding made a return to the home of St Ives Town by putting pen to paper to sign for the 2010/11 season in the UCL Premier Division. Fielding, who won the UCL Top Goalscorer award in 2008/09 has scored 60 goals in 110 games in a Saints shirt.

Co Manager; Warren Everdell spoke to the website "This is a great signing for us and Scott will be a great asset to the club" he added "We know Scotty and he knows how we like to play which will be a big advantage in the build up to the start of the season"

The Hunts Fa released information regarding the draws for the all Hunts affliated clubs this morning. 

Hunts Senior Cup - The Saints First Team have been awarded a bye in the Preliminary round and will play either Ramsey Town or Somersham Town in the Quarter Final at Westwood Road.

The Scott Gatty Cup - Our Reserves have also been awarded a bye and will go straight into the Quarter Final where they will face either Huntingdon Town Reserves or Needingworth, also at Westwood Road.

Saints Chairman; Ashley Griffiths, spoke to the website this morning "The best part about these two draws is that they should both attract a good crowd as the local cups are also very important to us in our quest to carry on bringing silverware back to Westwood Road"

Saturday 10th July 2010 - Swaffham Town vs St Ives Town

Saints Co Manager; Jez hall recently spoke to the Saints website to announce that this Saturday's friendly match away to Swaffham Town has been cancelled. Jez Hall said "We are looking at arranging another fiendly very shirtly and we'll update the fans as soon as possible"

Saints Co Manager; Jez Hall and Media Director; Simon Clark attended the Hinchingbrooke Cup AGM this evening, held at Eynesbury Rovers FC, where the draw was made for this season's competition.

The Saints were the first team drawn out of the hat and will host Potton United FC in the Preliminary Round, to be played before 16th October 2010.

Hall spoke to the website this evening "We played them last season in the first round and ran out winners and we'll be looking to do the same this time around" he added "There was some debate and discussions if we would enter this prestigeous competition but I know the lads will be keen to bring this fantastic trophy back to Westwood Road"

16 Ever presents in First Team football last term !
 
The season's domestic first team football saw sixteen players feature in each and every one of their respective clubs' matches. Leading the way in the Premier Division with 46 appearances in league and league cup were St Ives Town duo, defender Dan Newman and midfielder Matt Bannister. One behind on 45 appearances were Daventry United duo, goalkeeper Lee Farrow and midfield man Brad Harris.
