Marheineke remains for 2026/27 season

St Ives Town Football Club are pleased to announce that Ricky Marheineke will remain as manager for the 2026/27 season.

Marheineke has been the Ives manager since 2014 and was in charge during their decade as a step three club which unfortunately ended in relegation when the recent season finished last month.

However, the board of directors at the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road have moved swiftly to ensure that Marheineke remains at the helm for the new season.

Commenting on the decision to retain the services of Marheineke club co-Chairman Andrew Dunn said “Off the field, the club has recently gone through a period of considerable change, so the board were unanimous that right now, what is needed is stability.  The change off the field has seen some benefactors withdraw, so there will be a reduction in the playing budget for next season.  Despite this, the board believes Ricky is best placed to use this budget wisely as the club looks to rebuild, regroup and repair to get back on track.”

Dunn added “Next year the club will be celebrating its 140th anniversary.  Ricky loves St Ives Town and has demonstrated incredible loyalty to it over the years.  As we move to stabilise the club, we are also turning the page on a new chapter with a new vision that will see us rebuild so that when we are in a position to return to step three we do so stronger in all areas of the club.  I am pleased that Ricky wants to be part of this and delighted that he will be manager during our 140th year.”

Marheineke said “As we look ahead to the upcoming season, I couldn’t be prouder to continue leading St Ives Town as manager. Over the last 12 years, this club has become a huge part of my life. Together we have experienced incredible highs, difficult lows, unforgettable moments, and challenges that have tested everyone connected with the club. Through it all, my passion and commitment to St Ives Town has never changed.

I remain fully dedicated to putting together the strongest, hardest working, and most competitive team possible for the season ahead. Regardless of the constraints we may face as a club, my focus will always be on building a squad that represents the values, spirit, and pride of St Ives Town both on and off the pitch.

The support from the fans over these 12 years has meant everything, and I am determined to help create even more special memories together. I want our supporters to see a team that fights for the badge, gives everything every week, and is one they can truly be proud of.

Thank you for continuing to stand by the club. The journey continues, and I’m excited for what lies ahead.”
