St Ives Town Reserves March Into Hunts FA Intermediate Cup Final With Commanding 4–1 Win

St Ives Town booked their place in the Hunts FA Intermediate Cup final with a confident 4–1 win over Hemingfords United, built almost entirely on a blistering first‑half performance.

The game sparked into life right from the off, with St Ives settling quickest and moving the ball with real purpose. Their early pressure paid off when Rueben Huggins out jumped the Hemingfords defence to open the scoring, setting the tone for what followed. Not long after, Dylan Parry‑Jones doubled the lead with a tidy finish after a great through ball from Jacob Dickson that left the Hemingfords back line scrambling to recover.

Casey Fitzgerald extended the lead after Sam Parker was brought down in the box, and the referee pointed straight to the spot. Fitzgerald stepped up with confidence and calmly rolled the penalty into the corner, giving Ives an even firmer grip on the game.

Hemingfords did manage to pull one back, briefly threatening to drag themselves back into the contest, but St Ives responded soon after with the moment of the match. A great free kick swung into the box and rising above everyone, Alfie Baker powered in a majestic header that flew into the net and sent Ives into half‑time with a commanding 4–1 advantage.

The second half was a different story less frantic, more controlled. With the job largely done, St Ives managed the game sensibly, keeping their shape, slowing the tempo, and refusing to give Hemingfords any real encouragement. The scoreline stayed as it was, but the professionalism on display ensured the result never looked in doubt.

At the final whistle, St Ives could fully enjoy a well earned victory and turn their attention to the final, where Eynesbury United await in what promises to be a great showdown.
