St Ives Town Football Club were delighted to welcome representatives from RAF Wyton to the home match against AFC Sudbury on Monday evening.
A group of almost 30 personnel from the Cambridgeshire base attended the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road and witnessed the Ives secure an impressive 2-0 victory.
At half-time, the special guests were presented with several items of merchandise including an Ives replica shirt, that will be displayed in the new sports bar which has recently opened at their base.
Ives Chairman Paul Reason said:
“It was great to welcome representatives from RAF Wyton to the club. They all had a great evening, and we have had some real positive feedback and many of those who attended have said they will be returning. Their visit is all part of our plan to engage more widely with the local community as we continue to raise the profile of the football club”.
