Vacancy: Volunteer Sunday Duty Manager
St Ives Town Football Club is an established non-league football club which has teams ranging from men to youth to women. The club is at the heart of the local community, and its stadium complex is open 7 days a week and benefits from an artificial 3G playing surface that is hired to many local teams.
The club relies heavily on its team of volunteers, and we currently have a vacancy for a Volunteer Sunday Duty Manager. This role covers Sunday morning matches throughout the football season but will also include Sunday afternoons for when the women’s team have home games. When there is a women’s game, the proposed hours for this role will be between 08:30am – 4:30pm. When there are only morning youth matches, the proposed hours will be between 08:30am – 2:30pm.
Description of Duties:
- To be responsible for opening the stadium inclusive of changing rooms and other related areas.
- To oversee catering staff ensuring that all have reported for duty and address any problems.
- To ensure that the clubhouse is only open and used at set times throughout the day.
- Be responsible for removing any remaining litter from the changing rooms after matches.
- To remain on duty throughout Sunday afternoons when there is a Ladies home match.
- Lock all areas of the stadium ensuring that it is closed securely.
- Be the ‘go to’ person throughout the day dealing with any issues that may occur as well as providing an excellent customer service to spectators.
Person Specification:
- To be reliable and prepared to commit to working on a Sunday.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to use own initiative to resolve any problems.
- A friendly and outgoing personality
Experience of working in a similar role is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided. The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check before commencing in the role.
